Business Greeting Cards

The other day, I received a most unexpected piece of mail. The salesman who provides our office machinery and supplies had sent me a greeting card. But it wasn’t just any greeting card; it was a card wishing me a happy anniversary. While I was grateful to receive the thoughtful gesture, I had to think to myself, how did this fellow know the date of my wedding anniversary? Well, it turns out that this particular salesman is quite the savvy fellow. He had conversed with my secretary at the beginning of the year and recorded my information is his Outlook program’s contact information. It automatically reminds him of important dates and events so that he is prepared to send an appropriate greeting card.

His action got me to thinking that I should do likewise with my business contacts. So I did a little research and it turns out that business greeting cards are actually quite popular these days. I put my secretary in charge of implementing a system similar to his so that all of my friends, family, business contacts and customers would receive timely and appropriate business greeting cards. She immediately began calling other companies’ secretaries to discreetly gather all the information she needed to put our plan into motion. Then she purchased a “variety pack” of greeting cards so that we would be prepared for any occasion. Within days, we had sent off the first card and shortly after that, we received a thank you card in return.
